Pacers' George to make NBA season debut on Sunday

Xinhua, April 5, 2015 Adjust font size:

Indiana's All-Star guard Paul George will make his NBA season debut on Sunday against Miami Heat after he has missed the entire season for breaking his right leg in August.

George, a two-time All-Star and the NBA's Most Improved Player in 2012-13, was injured in a horrifying accident during a training game with the United States team, which won last year's Basketball World Cup.

The 24-year-old suffered an open fracture of the tibia and fibula in his right leg after colliding with James Harden, his leg buckling near the basket stanchion.

He was initially expected to miss the entire 2014-15 season.

The Pacers were 1 1/2 games behind the Heat for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference as of Saturday.

The top seed in the East a year ago, the Pacers have struggled to a 33-43 record with six games left to play. Endi
