Chadian soldiers killed in fighting with Boko Haram

Nine Chadian soldiers were killed and sixteen others were injured during the fighting on Wednesday between Chad-Niger joint forces and Nigerian Islamist sect Boko Haram, a statement of Chadian army said on Thursday.

"This casualties are only for Chadian soldiers," said the statement, adding more than one hundred Boko Haram militants were killed in the fighting and a large amount of equipments from the sect were destroyed by the joint forces.

The violent fighting occurred between Malam Fatori in Nigeria and Nigerien border town of Bosso. "Chad-Niger joint forces faced some resistance from Boko Haram. After intense fighting, the joint forces have completely controlled the area," said the statement.

Since their entry on March 8 in the north-eastern Nigeria, Chadian and Nigerien joint forces had taken the towns of Gachagar, Talagam, Abadam, Malam Fatori one by one from the hands of Boko Haram. Endi
