Myanmar registered a trade deficit of 4.9 billion U.S. dollars in the fiscal year 2014-15 that ended on March 31, figures from the Ministry of Commerce showed Thursday.

With its total foreign trade amounting to 27.79 billion U.S. dollars during the period, its export stood at 11.45 billion U.S. dollars while its import took 16.34 billion U.S. dollars. (Myanmar- Trade Deficit)

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir -- An Indian policeman was killed, while two military troopers and a civilian were wounded Thursday in a fierce gunfight between militants and Indian troops in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said.

The gunfight broke out at village Hardushoora of Tangmarg in Bramulla district, about 35 km northwest of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir. (India-Kashmir- Gunfight)

KABUL -- A suicide bombing rocked Khost city, the capital of Khost province on Thursday, leaving 17 people dead and injuring 50 others including a parliamentarian, provincial police chief Faizullah Ghairat said.

"Preliminary reports collected said that 17 people have lost their lives in the blast and some 50 others injured," Ghairat told reporters. (Afghanistan-Suicide Bombing)

DHAKA -- The death toll of Wednesday's ferry capsizal in a central Bangladesh district has risen to four on Thursday after three more bodies were retrieved from River Meghna, local police said.
