Deputy Assistant Directors of the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) were in Tirana on Wednesday to discuss strengthening U.S. cooperation with Albanian law enforcement institutions, Albanian Daily News reported.

J. Chris Warrener and Brian McCauley met with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri to discuss FBI's support for the future Albanian National Bureau of Investigation and opportunities to expand regional efforts against organized crime and drug trafficking.

In the meeting with Tahiri, the FBI leaders commended the Albanian State Police for their work in fighting corruption, organized crime, and terrorism. They expressed their support the Albanian Interior Ministry's commitment to fighting illegality and strengthening the rule of law in Albania.

The FBI officials' visit came shortly after Tahiri's recent visit to the United States, where he met with the FBI's Deputy Director Mark Guliano. Endi
