Xinhua, April 1, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Philippines is on track to achieve the target of welcoming 10 million foreign tourists next year, President Benigno S. Aquino III said on Wednesday.

Aquino made the remarks as he commended the officials of the Department of Transportation and Communications, the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Manila International Airport Authority for the renovation of the country's premier gateway, the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1, which he inspected on Wednesday.

"We're on track, supposed to reach 10 million by next year. So I think we're on schedule," he told reporters in an interview, citing that last year, foreign tourist arrivals already hit 5 million.

Aquino said that with the renovation of the Terminal 1, tourists would feel that "it's really more fun in the Philippines. " Endi
