Top Interpol Tirana officers arrested for alleged abuse of office

Albanian State police have arrested Tirana's Interpol chief and another officer, following an investigation conducted by the Internal Affairs Service and Complaints, for alleged abuse of office, local media reported on Tuesday.

Albanian State Police sources confirmed that Artan Bajraktari, head of Interpol Tirana, and Loreta Alla, former head of Interpol Tirana have neglected their duty over the arrest and extradition of a member of Albanian parliament.

Mark Frroku, who is currently a lawmaker in the Albanian Parliament, was charged with complicity in a murder case which occurred in 1999 in Belgium.

The two senior Interpol officers were accused of withholding request by Interpol Brussels regarding MP Mark Frroku from Albanian Ministry of Justice.

Mark Frroku was accused of involving in the assassination of Aleksander Kurti 16 years ago in Brussels of Belgium. Endit
