New Yorkers embrace wet snow in spring time

Xinhua, April 1, 2015 Adjust font size:

Nearly two weeks into spring, New Yorkers were embracing a round of mixed wet snow and rain showers in the tri-state area on Tuesday.

Rain showers started popping up from west to east early Tuesday afternoon, mixing with wet snow north and west of the city. According to NBC report, wet snow may also mix with snow in areas of lower elevation, but temperatures are expected to be too warm for flakes to stick.

For March, temperatures are running 4.3 degrees below average. The chilly month of the New York area, which ends Tuesday, follows a February that saw temperatures 11.4 degrees colder than average and a January that saw temperatures nearly 3 degrees below average, the report said. Endite
