Russian walking race star Lashmanova may miss 2016 Olympics

Xinhua, March 31, 2015 Adjust font size:

Russian race walking Olympic champion Elena Lashmanova may have to miss the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro beacuse she competed while serving a doping ban, according to the Russian athletics federation.

Lashmanova was banned last year because of a positive test for the banned substance GW1516.

Lashmanova's ban is due to end in February 2016, which means she has a chance to defend her Olympic title in Brazil. But the ban is set to prolonged after she was pictured competing at a Russian meet in December. Endi
