Four local-level Chinese officials under probe

Four Chinese officials are under investigation for suspected "crimes of bribery", the Supreme People's Procuratorate announced on Tuesday.

The four include Yu Zhigang, vice general manager of the direct-current power filiale under the State Grid and Huang Jian, chairman of the Guangxi Xinhua Bookstore Group Co. Ltd. The Xinhua Bookstore is not affiliated with Xinhua News Agency.

Huang Fengkai, former party chief of the Wuhan Vocational College of Software and Engineering and Wu Jide, former deputy director of the United Front Work Department of the Communist Party of China Gansu Provincial Committee and former party chief of the provincial association of industry and commerce are also under investigation.

Wu was also accused of embezzlement, power abuse and illegal fundraising from the public. Endi
