Air Malta enforces two-crew-member rule in cockpit

Air Malta, the airline of the Maltese Islands, on Friday announced to make it compulsory to have two crew members in the cockpit at all times with immediate effect, according to the airline's official website.

It is also committed to continually improving its safety policies and maintaining its impeccable safety record.

Regarding to the the crash of the Germanwings plane, Air Malta said "our thoughts are with the family members of these passengers as well as our colleagues around the world".

The announcement were made following the plane crash on Tuesday in a remote area of the French Alps, which killed 150 people.

French and German investigators have found indications that the Germanwings co-pilot might have deliberately crashed the aircraft after locking his fellow pilot out of the flight deck. Endit
