Icelandic airlines to take up procedure always to have two crew members in cockpit

Icelandic airlines Icelandair and WOW air have decided to take up the standard procedure always to have two crew members in the cockpit.

The decision was made following the allegation that the co-pilot of a Germanwings jetliner deliberately crashed the plane in the French Alps after locking the other pilot out of the cockpit on Tuesday.

Icelandair communications manager Gudjon Arngrimsson confirmed late Thursday to Xinhua that Icelandair has decided to take up the standard procedure that there will be always at least two crew members in the cockpit during Icelandair flights and that would be implemented immediately.

So if one of the pilots has to go outside of the cockpit, someone else of the crew will be there until the pilot comes back.

The other Icelandic airline WOW air has also made the same decision. Endit
