Iceland's CPI up 1.02 pct between Feb, March

Iceland's consumer price index (CPI) increased by 1.02 percent to 426.4 points mid-March compared to a month earlier, according to statistics issued Friday by Statistics Iceland.

Over the last three months, the CPI has increased by 1.0 percent, equivalent to an annual inflation rate of 3.9 percent.

Influencing the CPI were the winter sales coming to a close which caused an increase in prices of clothing and footwear by 9.1 percent, the cost of owner-occupied housing which rose by 1.6 percent, the costs associated with operation of personal transport equipment which rose by 5.8 percent and international airfare which rose by 8.8 percent.
