2nd LD Writethru: Duesseldorf investigators find torn sick-leave note of Germanwings' co-pilot, no suicide note

Xinhua, March 27, 2015 Adjust font size:

No suicide note was found in the Germanwings' co-pilot's home, but a torn sick-leave note prescribed by doctors was found, Duesseldorf prosecutors announced on Friday.

Prosecutors have finished the search of the co-pilot's home, and it has not led to discovery of a so-called farewell or remorse letter. Nor is there evidence of a political or religious background of the event, according to the written announcement.

But documents with medical contents were seized. In the documents, there are indications of an existing disease and appropriate medical treatment, the announcement added.

Prosecutors said that the sick-leave note is torn but actual, and the unlucky day is also included in the note.

"According to the preliminary assessment, the co-pilot concealed his illness to his employer and the professional field," the announcement said.

It will still take a few days to evaluate found medical records. The prosecutors stated that they will inform involved relatives and the public once reliable evidence is available. Endit
