Hit-and-run driver found dead in Queensland

Xinhua, March 27, 2015 Adjust font size:

A man who ran over and killed a young woman in a hit-and-run road accident in Queensland this week has been found dead.

Local media reported the 57-year-old father had taken his own life after learning what he had done.

Ashleigh Humphrys, 20, was drunk and lying or kneeling on a busy freeway in the early hours of Sunday after celebrating her birthday.

Humphrys was ran over moments before she had refused strangers attempts to put her into a taxi.

The man was found by police, but told them he had no idea of what he had done.

He was then found dead on Thursday, police said. Endi
