Japan's consumer prices up 2.0 pct in February

The Japanese Internal Affairs Ministry said on Friday that the country's consumer prices rose 2. 0 percent in February year on year for the 21st consecutive month of growth.

The core consumer price index, which excludes volatile fresh food prices, logged at 102.5 against the 2010 base of 100, said the ministry.

Japan's central bank aims at achieving a 2-percent inflation goal, excluding impacts of last April's sales tax hike in the period centered on fiscal 2015.

The tax hike has pushed the inflation rate up about 2 percentage points, according to the central bank. Endi
