Uganda champions attend Africa Club Volleyball Championship in Egypt

Xinhua, March 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

Uganda women's League champions, Vision Volleyball Camp (VVC) on Thursday left for Cairo, Egypt to take part in the 2015 Africa Club Volleyball Championship.

Coach Hannington Nsubuga told Xinhua before leaving that although they are making their first appearance at the event, they are determined to make an impact.

The event which will attract top teams from North, West, East and Central Africa will run from March 26 to April 5.

The coach said playing in such an event will expose the team better and give the players more to learn. "I believe the team is in the right state of mind to compete well," added the coach.

VVC will be banking on top players like Prossy Alobo, Shamim Makongoro and Peace Busingye who have played at International level before. They will look forward to emulate another Ugandan side Ndejje University who defied odds to reach the last eight of the same competition in 2013 in Madagascar. Endi
