Xinhua, March 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

In 2014, France, the eurozone's second largest economy, saw its growth at 0.4 percent in line with the government's growth target, national statistics institute Insee said on Thursday.

Confirming a previous estimate, Insee figures showed last year's economic performance stable.

According to the report, households consumption, main growth engine of the French economy, rose by 0.6 percent in the previous year, up by three percentage points from 2013 while their purchasing power improved by 1.1 percent.

Suffering a 0.6 percent fall in 2013, manufacturing output reported positive trend in 2014 with 0.3 percent while France's sales abroad inched up to 2.9 percent impacted by depreciating euro against U.S. dollar.

For 2015, the French government expects the economic growth to reach one percent betting on improved business climate at home and in Europe. Endit
