Fenerbahca captain may be punished again for remarks

Xinhua, March 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

Fenerbahce captain Emre Belozoglu may once again face punishment for his remarks to Besiktas manager Slaven Bilic during half-time of the Sunday's Istanbul derby clash, local media reported Thursday.

The footage of BJK TV shows Belozoglu saying: "He (Besiktas manager Slaven Bilic) stares at my face and walks off. In every match he does this, he does the same shit. When I say 'f... off', it causes trouble. Tell him not to flip me the bird anymore! If he does it, I swear... This is Istanbul."

Besiktas club president Fikret Orman told reporters that the club will appeal to the Turkish Football Federation's Disciplinary Committee, and they are expecting Belozoglu to be punished for his remarks.

This is not the first time Belozoglu caused trouble by his remarks. He received a two-and-half months suspended jail sentence for his racist remarks towards Didier Zokora of Cote d'Ivoire last year

The hot tempered midfielder was banned from playing for Turkey's national team for four matches after a tunnel bust-up in 2006 during a World Cup qualification match against Switzerland.

In January 2007, while playing for Newcastle United in the English Premier League, Belozoglu was accused of making racist remarks by Everton defender Joseph Yobo, and which he was again the leading man in racial abuse at Bolton's El-Hadji Diouf. Endi
