3 civilians injured in N. Afghan blast

Xinhua, March 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

A bomb attack injured three civilians in northern Afghan province of Kunduz on Thursday, the provincial government spokesman said.

"A sticky bomb attached to a police vehicle went off at around midday in the capital city of Kunduz, injuring three passers-by. No police aboard the vehicle were hurt. Three suspects were detained by police shortly after the blast," spokesman Abdul Wasah Basil told Xinhua.

The police van was damaged in the attack, according to Basil.

The injured were rushed to hospital with no life-threatening wounds, the spokesman added.

Nearly 3,700 civilians were killed and more than 6,800 others wounded in conflicts and Taliban-led attacks in 2014, according to official figures released by UN mission in the country.

The officials blamed the attacks of Taliban insurgents and other armed groups for the vast majority of the civilian deaths and injuries. Endi
