Urgent: Former war captive Bergdahl charged with desertion, U.S. army says

U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, a former Taliban prisoner who was released last summer in a prisoner exchange, was charged on Wednesday with desertion for leaving his post in Afghanistan before being captured and held captive for five years, the army said.

Bergdahl was also charged with misbehavior before the enemy, said an army spokesman. Endite
