Urgent: U.S. stocks decline despite upbeat data

U.S. stocks pared early gains to end lower Tuesday, as speculations about an earlier rate hike grew following the releases of better-than-expected economic data.

Both the Dow and the S&P 500 fell 0.6 percent, while the Nasdaq lost 0.3 percent. Endite
