Gong Xiaosheng, China's Special Envoy on the Middle East, will attend the Third International Humanitarian Pledging Conference for Syria, which is scheduled to be held in Kuwait next Tuesday.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying told a regular press briefing on Tuesday, noting that China has always played a constructive role in the political solution to the Syrian issue.

Hua said China has offered humanitarian aid for the Syrian people and overseas refugees and will continue to provide assistance.

In order to relieve the humanitarian situation, the international community should increase mediation and push for a political resolution of the Syrian issue, Hua said.

The international community should increase humanitarian aid to Syria in line with the principles of neutrality and impartiality and in accordance with relevant resolutions passed by the UN, Hua said.

We hope all parties in Syria cease fire as soon as possible and find a "middle way" that considers Syria's national conditions and the interests of all parties, Hua said. Endi
