Albania's Italian coach Gianni De Biasi on Monday named a 28-man squad for the red and black's Euro 2016 football qualifiers against Armenia on March 29, according to Albanian Telegraphic Agency.
De Biasi has not offered any surprise with his squad list for this crucial match. He stated on Monday at the Albanian Football Federation that the match against Armenia will be decisive in the national squad's dream about the France 2016 qualification.
Announcing the 28-man squad for the Armenia game, De Biasi voiced his confidence that Albania has the strength of the group and the national team will seek to keep the qualification hope alive.
"The match against Armenia ends the first qualifying round in our group, and Albania has so far achieved good results after the win over Portugal and the draw with Denmark. Unfortunately, we are still awaiting the final decision on the match with Serbia, but the team's performance has been positive and a win over Armenia on Sunday would give us fresh impetus for the return matches," De Biasi noted.
Commenting on his list of selectees, notably the defender Naser Aliji, who gets the first call-up to Albania team, De Biasi said that the newcomer Aliji represents an opportunity to test new solutions and added that it is very important to assess the physical state of the players during the week ahead of the match.
The match against Armenia will be played on Sunday, March 29, in Elbasan Arena, ending the first qualifying round in Group I, with Albania ranking third and having a chance to win a place in Euro 2016. Endi
