French stock market index down 0.65 pct on Monday

The French stock market benchmark index, CAC 40, closed with a decrease of 0.65 percent to 5,054.52 points on Monday, down 32.97 points.

The CAC 40 closed slightly lower on Monday with 28 of the 40 selected companies experiencing decrease, while Carrefour and EDF stayed the same as previous trading day.

Monday's top three gainers were Vivendi, up 3.34 percent, Societe Generale, up 1.34 percent, and BNP Paribas, up 1.04 percent.

The three companies that lost most on Monday were LVMH, down 2.81 percent, Valeo, down 2.78 percent, and Saint Gobain, down 2.42 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with an advance of 1.00 percent at 5,087.49 points, up 50.31 points. Endit
