Vietnam always remembers aid offered by Singapore's former PM Lee Kuan Yew: PM

The Vietnamese people always keep in mind the valuable assistance offered by former Singapore Prime Minister (PM) Lee Kuan Yew to Vietnam, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung Wrote Monday.

While signing the condolence book for the late former prime minister of Singapore at the Singaporean Embassy in Hanoi, Dung stated "The decease of former PM Lee Kuan Yew is the great loss not only for Singapore but also for the whole community of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)."

"Mr. Lee Kuan Yew's contributions to Singapore and his initiatives on the national establishment and development are a great source of encouragement for next generations," the website of the Vietnamese government quoted Dung as saying.

Earlier on the day, PM Dung sent his condolences to his Singaporean counterpart Lee Hsien Loong.

Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore's founding father, served as the country's prime minister from 1959 to 1990 and then as a senior minister and minister mentor. He died in Singapore early on Monday at the age of 91. Endi
