Vietnamese leaders extend condolences over death of Singapore's former PM

Vietnamese leaders on Monday extended their condolences over the death of Singapore's former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew.
Learning Singapore's former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew's death, Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, sent condolences to Lee Hsien Loong, secretary-general of the People's Action Party of Singapore.
Meanwhile, Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang conveyed condolences to his Singaporean counterpart Tony Tan Keng Yam on the passing away of Lee Kuan Yew.
On the same day, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh also sent condolences to Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Vietnam's state-run radio VOV reported on Monday.
Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore's founding father, served as the country's premier from 1959 to 1990 and then as a senior minister and minister mentor. He died in Singapore early Monday at the age of 91. Endi
