Tropical Cyclone Nathan has regenerated and is gaining force on Monday after twice hitting landfall in far northern Australia.
The cyclone has been swirling for 12 days and has now forced the evacuation of people from Goulburn Island off the coast of the Northern Territory (NT).
It first hit landfall in far north Queensland on Friday before moving west to the NT.
With the cyclone expected to strengthen to a category-3 storm on Monday, authorities have decided to fly out the 400 indigenous residents of the Warruwi community on the small island.
Cyclone Nathan is moving north-west at 12 kilometers per hour and is set to increase in intensity to category-3 strength over open water as it moves along the coast.
Category 3 is classified as severe, with very destructive winds speeding over open flat land of 165 to 224 kilometers per hour. Endi
