S. Korea's Shin, Estonia's Novosjolov win epee GP in Budapest

South Korean fencer Shin A Lam and Estonian fencer Nikolai Novosjolov won women's and men's epee Grand Prix respectively here on Sunday.

Shin A Lam won the gold medal in the Jozsef Sakovics Women's Epee Grand Prix event by beating Ana Maria Branza of Romania 9-5 in the final.

The bronze medals went to Tatyana Andryushina and Tatiana Logunova, both from Russia.

Chinese fencer Sun Yujie, who currently ranked second in the world, entered the last 16 before losing to Logunova 15-14.

In the men's Imre Vass Memoriam Epee Grand Prix held in tandem, Nikolai Novosjolov took the gold medal, winning 15-6 against Ivan Trevejo of France.

The men's bronze medals went to Pavel Pitra of the Czech Republic and Benjamin Steffen of Switzerland.

A total of 218 female fencers from 50 countries and regions competed in the women's event, while a total of 296 male fencers from 54 countries and regions competed in the men's event. Endi
