Ist LD: Militants storm military camp in Indian-controlled Kashmir

Xinhua, March 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

Militants on Saturday morning attacked an Indian military camp in Indian-controlled Kashmir, officials said.

This is the second attack within 24 hours in the restive region.

Militants believed to be a fidayeen (suicide attackers) group threw grenades and opened gunfire at the camp in Samba, about 53 km south of Jammu city, the winter capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.

Reports pouring in from the area said a heavy exchange of fire is going on between the militants and the troops.

"Militants attacked army camp in Samba today (Saturday)," a police officer said. "The gunbattle is going on."

On Friday, six people including a civilian were killed after militants stormed a police station in Kathua district. Endi
