Arsenal defender Gabriel earns Brazil call-up

Xinhua, March 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

Brazil coach Dunga has called up uncapped Arsenal central defender Gabriel Paulista for friendlies against France and Chile.

Shakhtar Donetsk striker Luiz Adriano and Corinthians centre- back Gil have also been drafted into Brazil's 23-man squad, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) said on Friday.

The trio's inclusion comes after the injury-enforced omissions of Paris Saint-Germain defenders David Luiz and Marquinhos, and Shandong Luneng striker Diego Tardelli.

Gabriel joined Arsenal in January for 11 million British pounds after an impressive 18-month spell with Spain's Villarreal.

Brazil will meet France in Paris on March 26 before taking on Chile in London three days later. Endite
