The Chinese chamber of commerce in Angola launched an initiative on Friday and called for Chinese companies operating in the African country to work closer with local partners to deepen sustainable economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries.
A statement, issued to mark the ninth anniversary of the founding of the chamber, urged associated Chinese enterprises to promote economic development of the host country and to fulfill social responsibilities for mutual benefits between Angola and China.
The chamber called on Chinese companies to exercise rights and obligations under Angolan laws and basic norms of international operations and business practices, and to comply with principals of fair competition and respect for competitors and boycott benefits by improper means and combat any form of commercial bribery.
The initiative also called on member companies to actively protect and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of both Chinese and local employees to ensure that they could share the dividends of the socia-economic development of the company.
The initiative called for more attention to environment protection by adhering to green business and promote environment friendly projects to achieve a sustainable development for the benefit of future generations of Angola.
Chinese companies in Angola, the initiative said, should also actively contribute to the development of local communities with charity donations and other public service utilities while implementing a business strategy to achieve harmony with local people, communities, societies, government and stakeholders for solidarity and common development.
The chamber of commerce advocated for a quality supervision system to improve technological innovation to further improve quality control and civil engineering services as Chinese companies are the important driving forces in promoting mutual benefit and common development in the context of economic and social globalization.
