Over 2,000 punished for disciplinary violations in Feb.

The disciplinary watchdog of the Communist Party of China (CPC) uncovered 1,509 cases of anti-graft rule violations involving 2,076 people in February, according to an announcement on Friday.
Of those who committed violations, 1,228 have been given Party or administrative punishment, said the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI).
The violations included illegal subsidies, lavish spending at weddings and funerals, accepting festival gifts and use of public funds for high-end entertainment activities and travel, with using official cars for private errands the most frequent issue.
In 2014, disciplinary organs at all levels punished 71,748 people for violations of anti-graft rules, with 23,646 given Party or administrative punishment.
According to the CCDI, monthly reports of violations will be made by 31 provincial-level regions, the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps and 59 state organs. Endi
