Two new types of stock index futures to start trading

Xinhua, March 20, 2015 Adjust font size:

Two new types of stock index futures are set to start trading on the China Financial Futures Exchange (CFFEX) next month, China's top securities regulator announced on Friday.

The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) said in a regular news briefing that it has given approval for the trading of SSE50 index futures and CSI500 index futures on April 16.

The addition of the new index futures will help diversify financial products to better meet investors' needs, said CSRC spokesman Deng Ge.

Currently, China has only one stock index futures -- Hushen 300 index futures, which started trading in April, 2010. The stock-index contracts are designed to allow investors to bet on and profit from both gains or declines in the market. Endi
