Uganda's Mutumba joins Iran Premier League team Rah Ahan

Xinhua, March 20, 2015 Adjust font size:

Uganda Cranes player Martin Kayongo Mutumba has signed for Iran's Premier League side Rah Ahan FC.

"I am very happy that this has happened because it gives me chance to show my talent in yet another League," Mutumba told Xinhua on Thursday after signing on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old winger who made his first appearance for the Cranes in 2014 moved from Turkey's Caykur Rizespor to the Iranian side for an undisclosed fee.

Mutumba who started his career in Sweden's Vasalunds IF did not have a good time while plying his trade in Turkey.

His new team Rah Ahan sits rock bottom of the Iran Professional League table at the moment.

His three year honey moon at Swedish Club AIK ceased last year when he penned a two year deal with Turkey's Caykur Rizespor. Lack of enough playing time forced the player to try his luck else where in Iran. Endite
