Rio 2016 to announce Olympic ticket resellers

Xinhua, March 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

The names of authorized ticket resellers for the 2016 Olympic Games will be revealed on March 31, organizers said on Wednesday.

Approved companies will be published on the official Rio2016 website, according to a statement from the local organizing committee.

"Each [authorized reseller] will have its own sales process and fans should seek this information from the company that will sell tickets in their territory," the statement said. "Any [resellers] who are approved after March 31, will be added to the list subsequently."

Brazilian residents will be eligible to apply for tickets directly from the local organizing committee on March 31 by registering for the first of two random draws.

About 7.5 million tickets will be put on sale for the Games, to be held from August 5-21 next year. Endi
