Two French citizens were killed in the terrorist attack on a museum in Tunis, the capital city of Tunisia, on Wednesday, confirmed French president Francois Hollande on Wednesday night.

In the press release issued by the French presidency office, the Elysee, Francois Hollande also confirmed seven French citizens are injured, including one in serious condition.

Earlier on Wednesday night, Tunisian Prime Minister Habib Essid announced a French tourist was killed in the noon attack at the country's national museum as well as five Japanese, four Italians, two Colombians and visitors from Austria, Spain and Poland.

According to French local media, the second French victim died of his wounds sustained in the attack.

Gunmen wearing military uniforms stormed Bardo museum earlier on Wednesday. So far, 19 people are confirmed dead, among whom 17 are foreigners and the other two Tunisians. Endit
