Sunderland fires coach Poyet

Premier League club Sunderland has sacked coach Gus Poyet on Monday after the Uruguayan was in charge less than 18 months.

Sunderland now stands in 17th place on 26 points with nine games to go. The team just won four of its 29 league games, the same as fellow relegation zone struggler and last-place Leicester.

Former Netherlands coach Dick Advocaat, 67, was appointed as the interim coach until the end of the season. Endi
