French stock market climbs 1.01 pct on Monday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 gained an advance of 1.01 percent, or 50.7 points, to close at 5,061.16 points on Monday.

The CAC 40 closed higher Monday with 33 of the 40 selected companies gaining advance, while Vivendi stayed the same as previous trading day.

Monday's top three gainers were Kering, up 2.63 percent, Sanofi, up 2.49 percent, and Safran, up 2.22 percent.

The three companies which lost most on Monday were Lafarge, down 6.25 percent, Alcatel-Lucent, down 0.67 percent, and Technip, down 0.52 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with an advance of 0.46 percent to close at 5,010.46 points, up 23.13 points. Endit
