British FTSE 100 adds 0.94 pct on Monday

FTSE 100 Index, the British benchmark stock market gauge, Monday increased by 0.94 percent, or 63.50 points, to 6,804.08 points.

Sainsbury's share price increased by 3.67 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Tesco, Kingfisher, Next and TUI AG Reg Shs increased by 3.65 percent, 3.47 percent, 2.79 percent and 2.74 percent respectively.

Tullow Oil led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 5.73 percent, followed by CRH (4.42 percent), Sports Direct International (2.36 percent), Experian (1.33 percent) and Royal Bank of Scotland Group (1.32 percent).

The index has gained 4.60 percent so far this year when measured in U.S. dollar. Endit
