Chinese security official meets Turkish guests

Senior Chinese security official Meng Jianzhu said here Monday that security cooperation has played a positive and constructive role in enhancing mutual trust between China and Turkey.

Meng made the remark while meeting with a Turkish delegation headed by Umit Yalcin, deputy under-secretary of the Foreign Ministry of Turkey.

Meng, head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said China and Turkey should enhance security cooperation and jointly address fresh challenges brought about by changes in the international security situation.

Meng said the two sides should work together to maintain security and stability of the two countries and the region.

Yalcin said Turkey places great importance on advancing strategic cooperation with China. He said Turkey is ready to step up security cooperation and exchanges with China and jointly combat terrorism. Endi
