Tokyo shares open higher on hope for Japan economy

Tokyo shares opened higher Monday as sentiment was boosted by investors' optimism about the Japanese economy, while profit-taking sense held the uptrend.
At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 61.33 points, or 0.32 percent, from Friday to 19,315.58.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 3.38 points, or 0.22 percent, to 1,563. 71. Endi
