Dutch top three book wins

PSV, Ajax and Feyenoord made no mistake to strengthen the first three positions in the Eredivisie on Sunday.

League leaders PSV had difficulties against FC Groningen, but booked a 2-1 home win. Georginio Wijnaldum opened the scoring, but after a penalty by Luuk de Jong was saved by goalkeeper Sergio Padt, it was Eric Botteghin who equalized on behalf of the visitors. French defender Nicolas Isimat-Mirin became match winner in the 66th minute, with his first goal for PSV.

Also on Sunday Ajax had no problems at sc Heerenveen. The visitors took an early lead through Arek Milik and Davy Klaassen. In an attempt to clear Joel Veltman produced an own goal ten minutes from half-time, but he also scored at the other side three minutes later. The assist for this goal came from Daley Sinkgraven, who also assisted the second goal with a corner.

Milik added his second goal in the second half to earn Ajax the 4-1 win. Heerenveen finished the match with ten men after a red card for Pele van Anholt for a foul on breakaway player Anwar El Ghazi.

Later on Sunday Feyenoord left it late at bottom side FC Dordrecht. Elvis Manu headed in a cross by Jordy Clasie to give Feyenoord the lead, but Jeffry Fortes equalized in the second half. Substitute Anass Achahbar headed the vistors towards a 2-1 victory in injury-time with his first goal for Feyenoord.

With the win number three Feyenoord distanced themselves from number four AZ, which lost 3-1 at Vitesse on Friday. Feyenoord are now on 51 points from 27 matches, four more than AZ. PSV lead the standings with 70 points, eleven more than Ajax. Endi
