From NBA player Harrison finds job at McDonald's

Former Indiana Pacers center David Harrison found a job at McDonald's about two years ago after he helped Guangdong Southern Tigers win Chinese domestic league, and now is still struggling to make a living.

The 32-year-old said almost all of his basketball salary is gone and he can not find a job as his basketball career ended, according to reports on Friday.

Two years ago, Harrison' credit card was rejected while trying to buy his son a meal at a McDonald's and the manager recognized him and helped him get a job.

"People were showing up trying to take my car. My house was in foreclosure," Harrison told Yahoo.com. "I didn't have any income. I just had everything going out. I have child support to one son. I have a really big family and I have to take care of them, even though I'm not playing in the NBA. I needed money."

Harrison was drafted by the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the 2004 NBA Draft, averaging 5.0 points and 2.9 rebounds over four seasons with the Pacers and became a free agent following the 2007-08 season.

Then he went to China to become a member of the Beijing Ducks for the 2008-09 season and played with the Guangdong Southern Tigers for the next two years to help them win the championship before playing for Tianjin Ronggang for one season.

He last appeared at the Dallas Mavericks' summer league in 2012 and hasn't received any calls from NBA teams from then nor any overseas offers. Endite
