EU green lights acquisition of ESSO's French gas stations by Ireland's DCC Energy

Xinhua, March 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

The European Union (EU) approved Irish company DCC Energy's acquisition of Esso gas stations in France under the EU's merger regulation, the European Commission (EC) announced on Friday.

DCC Energy has a business presence in various industries, from health care and the environment to the food and beverage sector.

The acquired business operates a motor fuel distribution chain under the Esso brand in France. It consists of 272 retail service stations, 48 motorways service stations (toll and non-toll) and 67 service stations.

The EC concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns, because there are no overlaps between the companies' respective activities. Endit
