Pakistan launches indigenous armed drone

Xinhua, March 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

Pakistan launched an indigenously developed armed drone on Friday, test-firing laser- guided missiles, the military said.

The "Burraq and Barq" drone, which has impressive pin-point accuracy, has all-weather and multiplied capability against terrorists, an army said in a statement.

Army Chief General Raheel Sharif, who attended the launching ceremony, witnessed the test fire on static and moving targets.

Calling the test as a great national achievement and a momentous occasion, he said, "It is a force multiplier in our anti- terror campaign."

General Sharif congratulated the nation, scientists and technicians involved in development of the drone. Endi
