Polish, French PM hold talks over bilateral relations, economic problems

Polish Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz and his visiting French counterpart Manuel Valls held talks in Warsaw on Thursday to discuss bilateral relations and EU economic problems.
Ewa Kopacz praised Polish-French relations as "strategic" and drew attention to the recent increase of investments and trade, including Polish export to France.
Manuel Valls said that "Poland and France need each other" and praised the bilateral relations as "extraordinary".
During Valls' visit, agreement on cooperation have been signed between Polish Space Agency and the French National Centre for Space Studies was signed.
Another important cooperation agreement was also signed between National Center for Nuclear Research in Poland and the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission.
The two prime ministers also talked about the economic challenges facing the EU, including the need for new impulses for development with both sides expressing support for the plan by Jean-Claude Juncker, current President of the European Commission.
The plan is to create a European Fund for Strategic Investments with an initial capital of 21 billion euros and is aimed at reviving economic growth in the EU.
Both sides also expressed hope for creating a strong energy union.
Regarding the recent situation in Ukraine, both sides agreed on the need to implement the Minsk Agreement, reached on February 12. Both Valls and Kopacz agreed on the need of peace in the region and declared their support for the reforms in the Ukraine. Endit
