YANGON -- Myanmar's government forces continued to launch air strike against the Kokang ethnic army over the last two days, claiming the capture of some more strategic hills in the heavy fighting, official media reported on Wednesday.

The government troops mounted attacks on hilly bases of the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) in the vicinity of the village of Lonhtan, taking some hills after four air strike on Monday. (Myanmar-Air Strike)

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan paramilitary troops raided the headquarters of a powerful political group in the port city of Karachi early Wednesday and recovered arms and arrested some suspects, officials said.

The forces also sealed the headquarters of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement or MQM for a thorough search of the building, spokesman for the forces, Col. Tahir, said. (Pakistan-Political Group-Raid)

NEW DELHI -- A special Indian court on Wednesday summoned the country's former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as an accused in a multi-billion dollar coal scam.

The former prime minister and five others were asked to appear before the court on April 8, after Singh was charged with criminal conspiracy, corruption and breach of trust by a public servant in one of the coal scam cases. (India-Singh-Coal Scam) Endi
