Uganda's Mbabazi to coach Somalian national football teams

Xinhua, March 10, 2015 Adjust font size:

Former Ugandan international Livingstone Mbabazi has been appointed coach of Somalia's senior and junior national football teams.

Edgar Watson, Chief Executive Officer of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), told Xinhua in an interview on Tuesday that Mbabazi has already traveled to Mogadishu to take up the appointment.

"We think it is good for Mbabazi to go and get International exposure in coaching as he builds his profile," said Watson.

Mbabazi who played professional football at St. Patrick FC Athletic in Ireland was last year coach of Uganda Premier League side Bright Stars FC which he guided to 12th place on the log.

He takes over from another Ugandan Coach George Ssemogerere who also handled the Somalia teams together with goalkeepers' coach James Magala.

The former Cranes midfielder spent the 2013 season as coach player of Ugandan Second Division side, Wandegeya FC. As a player he made his name at KCC FC before joining St. Patrick FC of Ireland where he played between 1999 and 2003. Endi
