Tokyo stocks rise slightly in morning on Wall Street gains

Tokyo stocks rose 0.22 percent in the morning session of Tuesday supported by overnight gains on Wall Street and the yen's depreciation.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was up 41.09 points, from Monday to 18,831.64.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange gained 1.46 points, or 0.10 percent, to 1,533. 22.

Major gainers included precision instrument, rubber and machinery issues. Endi
