Belarus confirms interest in dialogue with DPRK

Belarus Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei confirmed Monday his country's interest in developing dialogue with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) especially in trade and economic sectors, after meeting with his DPRK's counterpart Ri Su-yong.

The Belarusian minister said that the relations between Belarus and DPRK had a great potential, adding "Belarus is interested in building up constructive relations with its partners."

He said Belarus has been developing open cooperation with DPRK. "The countries have common goals: to develop a stable and independent economy, improve people's living standards," he said.

For his part, Ri Su-yong expressed the readiness of DPRK to life the relations with Belarus to a brand new level, saying "We have agreed that it is needed to create new mechanisms and formats of economic cooperation, step up interaction between the foreign ministries."

The DPRK foreign minister also added that Makei had accepted an official invitation to visit Pyongyang. Endite
